Alison obtained a Bachelor of Divinity degree at Edinburgh University in 1974 and then did a year’s teacher training in Bristol before taking up a post at Kinsgmead School in Hoylake.
She first came to Serpentine Road Family Church (then Egremont Baptist Church) in 1986 where she became a member and served on the Church Council. She began training for the Baptist Ministry at the Northern Baptist College in 1990 and was Ordained and Inducted as a Minister at Serpentine Road Family Church in 1993.
Alison has a particular care for those marginalised in our Society. She currently serves on the Committee of BUild, the Baptist Union Initiative for People with Learning Disabilities, and is Chaplain to the Wallasey Faith and Light Group for those with Special Needs and their families which meets at Serpentine Road Family Church
Alison continues to keep up with theological reading and also enjoys novels and classic children’s books. She likes holidaying in the more remote areas of the UK and takes an annual walking holiday with a friend. She wishes she had more time to develop her garden and practise her cookery skills!
Her vision for Serpentine Road Family Church is that we will be willing to serve the local community and to provide a welcome for all who come into the Church Centre so that they might discover the love of Jesus.
We are a United Church in membership with the Baptist Union and the United Reformed Church. We are situated in the Egremont District of Wallasey, Wirral. We are a church committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus with the local community. We provide a varied pattern of worship and a wide range of activities for all ages. We assure you of a warm welcome.
